Sip, Relax, and Enjoy the Melodies

Once a month we keep the lights low, silence the grinders after seven, and hand the room over to three local musicians for a set each. No amplification beyond a single vocal mic, no cover charge, and no minimum spend. It is the one evening where the loudest thing in the building is a guitar.

Past sessions have run from fingerstyle guitar to a cellist playing folk arrangements to a two-piece singing in close harmony. We book the lineup a month ahead and post it on the board by the door; if you play and want a slot, leave your name with the barista.

What we serve

• Filter coffee and decaf espresso, poured until close
• Mexican hot chocolate and mint hot cocoa from the evening board
• A short plate menu: cheese, olives, sourdough, and whatever the kitchen has left
• House-made sodas and two rotating natural wines by the glass

Good to know

Seating is first come, first served, and the room holds about forty comfortably. Arrive by half past six if you want one of the window tables. Between sets there is a ten-minute break, which is when we take drink orders, so that nobody has to whisper an order over a ballad.

Bring a friend, bring a book, bring nothing at all. The sets are short, the room is warm, and there is no expectation that you stay for all three. Children are welcome until eight thirty, and yes, the pastry case is usually half full by the time the second act starts.
